ASSAB - UDDEHOLM is a scrap based plant, where after melting, further refining takes place through ESR (wherever required) as well as other secondary refining methods. The ingots are then forged in one of the largest and most modern forging presses in the world. The steels are microdised using special techniques to impart high wear resistance and toughness. Micro alloys are added according to requirements. The forged blocks are then further forged or rolled according to required dimensions. On and offline testing instruments guarantee the world class reputation enjoyed by ASSAB UDDEHOLM. The logistics department takes care of shipments to daughter companies, exclusive agents as well as to direct customers. In a year, there are approx. 100,000 shipments worldwide and the quantity per order and per shipment could be even 50 kgs!

The research and development in ASSAB UDDEHOLM is a continuous process and on an average one new grade is introduced every year.
