A new prehardened plastic mould Steel with high hardness and high toughness.

Nimax is a low carbon martensitic steel which obtains specified properties without any heat tratment during steel manufacturing.

Advantages over 1.2738 HH.
  • Higher surface hardness after nitriding.
  • Better weldability.
  • Finer surfaces after machining.
  • No hard " white layer" after EDM'ing.
  • More uniform hardness over the cross- section.


    Disadvantage.
  • Flame - hardening not possible.
